About Polestar

Polestar is a Swedish premium electric vehicle manufacturer. Founded in 2017, Polestar is headquartered in Gothenburg with vehicles on the road in 27 markets globally.
Polestar has produced two electric performance cars. Polestar 1 was built between 2019 and 2021 as a low-volume hybrid performance GT with a carbon fibre body, 609hp and an electric-only range of 124km (WLTP) – the longest of any hybrid car in the world when launched.

Polestar 2 fastback is the company’s first fully electric, high-volume car. The range includes three variants including long- and standard range batteries as large as 78kWh, and dual- and single-motor powertrains with power up to 350kW / 476hp.

From 2022, Polestar plans to launch one new electric vehicle annually. The recently unveiled Polestar 3 is the company’s first electric performance SUV. Polestar 4 is to follow in 2023 – a smaller electric performance SUV coupe.

Polestar 5 electric performance four-door GT is planned for 2024 as the production evolution of Polestar Precept. This concept car was released in 2020 showcasing the brand’s future vision for design, technology, and sustainability.

Polestar revealed its second concept car in early 2022, an electric performance roadster building on the ambitions laid out by Precept and showcases the brand’s vision for future sports cars. Polestar recently confirmed that a version of the hard-top convertible concept will be produced as Polestar 6, expected in 2026.

As Polestar seeks to reduce its climate impact with every new model, it aims to produce a truly climate-neutral car by 2030.
