Local Infrastructure Lead, Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland

Michael McGrath is the Local Infrastructure Lead in Zero Emission Vehicles Ireland, a new Government Office within the Department of Transport, which supports the uptake of vehicles through grants and incentives and also funds EV charging infrastructure. Michael is currently developing the National Destination and Residential Neighbourhood EV charging Network Plan. This plan provides a pathway for delivery of public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at destination and residential Neighbourhood areas.

Michael studied Civil Engineering in Queens University Belfast and graduated in 2001 and has previously worked in Local Authroities for 20 years where he lead multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of a range of projects including Social Housing Schemes, Urban Regeneration Projects, and recently the FASTER Project which involved the planning and installation of 75 Rapid Chargers across border counties of the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Western Scotland for which Louth County Council was the lead in the Republic of Ireland
