Journalist In Residence – UCD Earth Institute

Shauna Corr is an investigative reporter with a particular interest in the environment and social justice issues.

The former Irish/NI Daily Mirror & Star environment correspondent, is now an Earth Institute Journalist in Residence and contributes to a range of news outlets, north and south.

A Social Change Initiative fellow, the Tyrone woman has reported globally and across this island on the impacts of the climate crisis and biodiversity loss, including four UN global climate conferences and from countries including CAR, Greece, the Netherlands, Kenya, Somalia and Syria.

She has broken major stories including the impact of blue green algae on Lough Neagh, the plight of Ireland’s exported calves and coursed hares, licensing to shoot red listed birds, the climate impacts of LNG and fracked gas, how greenways are cutting off wildlife and Coillte’s continued planting on peat bogs.
