- Ireland is in the early stages of transitioning its public bus services to operation by zero-emission vehicles.
- Battery-electric urban buses are now in service in Athlone, Dublin and Limerick, with plans in place to intensify their operation in Dublin and Limerick, while also extending their sphere of operation to Galway and Sligo.
- Ian will outline progress with the transition of the urban bus fleet, the challenges with implementing charging infrastructure in varied locations across Ireland and experiences to-date with operating bus services using zero-emission urban buses, as well as describing the steps that the NTA is taking to increase the amount of charging infrastructure available to public bus operators and to progress the transition of the non-urban bus fleet.
